Irina Khanin will make an excellent Virginia House delegate. Indivisible Winchester endorses her whole heartedly for her progressive values and her commitment to improving the lives of all Virginians. Irina Khanin is running for House District 29 in a 2020 Special Election, and has a good chance of winning … the Blue Wave turnout in this presidential election year is expected to be dramatic. She is a child advocacy lawyer and a naturalized citizen. She has forged strong ties to local grassroots advocacy groups, and has become friends with many people in Indivisible Winchester.
Irina has spoken passionately about protecting the environment, expanding access to affordable healthcare, making education a priority, and addressing the economic disparities and social and racial injustices that been untouched by our policy-makers. She does her homework and she shows up.
Perhaps because she grew up under an authoritarian government in the Soviet Union, she values fairness and Democracy. She promises that if elected, she will keep the lines of communication open between herself and her constituents. And she will fight against the corrosive influence of corporate money in politics.
