Indivisible Winchester endorses Mavis Taintor for Virginia House District 33. Mavis will be a thoughtful and committed member of Virginia’s House of Delegates who will work hard to see that all Virginians have affordable health care, equality, economic opportunities, infrastructure that works, and justice for all under the law. She will address the corrupting influence of corporate money in our politics and will fight to protect the environment and the beauty of rural Virginia. Having burst through glass ceilings in her career to excel in the world of finance, she is now giving back by running to be a public servant. Her strength and character are admirable.
As we discussed at our March general IW meeting, we interviewed Mavis, shared a video with known active members and polled them. The vote to endorse was unanimous among respondents.
District 33 spans from the edge of Winchester City, across Eastern Frederick County, northern Clarke County and Western Loudoun County to Leesburg. Mavis is running in all parts of her district, and she has made a notable effort to meet people where they live, to attend Democratic functions, grassroots meetings, and issue-specific events such as the March for Our Lives, the Women’s March and public forums.
Let’s work hard to get Mavis Taintor elected!
Fundraiser this Sunday April 7 @ 612 Winery, 5-7pm. Come on out and support Mavis.
